Why is my candle smoking?

Your Twine & Lace candle should be smoke free under ideal conditions. Here are some tips to keep your candle smoke-free! . Do not burn your candle in a drafty area such as near a window, in a hallway or close to a fireplace. . If the candle is placed in a drafty area the draft can cause the flame to produce smoke. . The candle should return to normal once the candle is removed from the drafty area. . Do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours at a time. . Burning your candle for more than 3 hours at a time increases the risk of smoking because the wick is too long and the flame burns too hot. My candle does not stay lit.

My candle flame seem unusually large!

Your wick may be defective. Stop using your candle and email a photo of your lit candle flame to info@twineandlacecandle.com

I believe the wax is drowning out the wick.

We highly recommend burning your Twine & Lace candle until you achieve a full melt pool each time. This means that you will need to burn your candle for up to 2 to 3 hours until the top of the melted wax reaches all the edges of your glass container. If you don't let the top melted wax reach the edges because you are burning it for shorter amounts of time, you will notice that your candle is starting to create a tunnel. It is not recommended that you cut out the unmelted wax to fix the tunneling issue. Simply let your candle burn for longer periods of time and the issue should solve itself.

How long can I expect my candle to burn for?

Twine & Lace candles are all 10.5 oz therefore they will burn between 55-60 hours.

Do I need to trim the wooden wick?

You don't usually need to do anything to your candle between burning sessions. If your wooden wick is longer than 1/2" when you blow out the flame; let your candle completely cool down and the wax harden. Before relighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 1/4". Please make sure to always remove the wick trimmings from the wax before relighting the candle or it can discolore your wax. Trimming the wooden wick reopens the pores of the wood which causes your flame to burn hotter and higher therefore increasing the chance of your candle to produce soot.

Do you make candles in various sizes?

At this time, we only make 10.5 oz candles.

In which stores can I find your candles?

You will find a list of our retailers under the SHOP heading in Retail Locations.

Remove the metal wick holder carefully with a knife. Then wash the glass jar with dish soap and hot water.
